Hyundai Creta pre booking cross 10,000 in India

In the last week, the Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai announced it officially that it has received over 10,000 pre-bookings for the upcoming mass market sports utility vehicle Creta. This vehicle is all geared up to be launched in India this week.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has invested around Rs 1,000 crore in the development of the five seater model Creta.

The Creta will make Hyundai Motors compete with the likes of the best manufacturers in the market including Nissan Ford, Tata Motors, Renault and Mahindra & Mahindra on the grounds of the volume segment of SUVs.

In an official statement, Rakesh Sirivastava, the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at HMIL stated that Hyundai Creta has created an immense excitement even before it has been launched in the market with its stylish and bold looks. He stated that the company is delighted to receive an overwhelming response with Hyundai Creta pre booking crossing 10,000 in India  and 28,500 enquiries showing interest in the model.

He further revealed that the SUV has the ability to create a new chapter in the success story of Hyundai Motor India. It will set a new benchmark in the SUV market segment in the country with its unparalleled capabilities claimed the executive.

Hyundai Creta will compete with the best sellers in the market including Renault Duster, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra Scorpio, Nissan Terrano, Tata Safari Storme and Mahindra XUV500 that are priced in the bracket between Rs 6.75 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh.

With the launch of the Creta, Hyundai is foraying to the full-fledged volume segment of SUVs. Right now, Hyundai exists in the SUV segment in the premium category with the sports styled i20 Active and Santa Fe.

The SUV segment has witnessed a growth in the Indian automobile market since the year 2013 with an annual growth rate of 25 percent. However, the same declined in the time period between January and May this year by 6 percent.

The Creta has been designed and developed by Hyundai in its homeland Korea. The engineers of HMIL in Chennai and Hyderabad have been involved in the customization of the vehicle to suit the Indian customers.
