Tata JLR launches F-Pace SUV, Indian debut to happen in H2 2016

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) owned by Tata Motors has forayed into the SUV market with the F-Pace model’s announcement. The same is expected to be made available in the flourishing Indian SUV market in the latter half of the next year.

The F-Pace SUV was announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show and it is called “ultimate practical sports car”. The main reason for the same is that the vehicle symbolizes the iconic British luxury car manufacturer’s spirit with the modern technology.

The brand has made its entry art the Frankfurt Motor Show with a stunning ‘Guinness Book of Records’ for breaking a record of driving around a loop that is 19.1 meters high. This daring stunt was performed by Terry Grant, the racing driver.

The F-Pace SUV is believed to hit the records in the U.S. and Europe in a phased launch by the manufacturer early next year. The Indian launch is expected to take place in the latter half of the next year.

There is an increasing crossover segment in the country, and the F-Pace SUV will be appealing. The pricing is yet to be finalized and it will be a challenge in the booming Indian market. These details were revealed by the JLR India’s President and Managing Director, Rohit Suri.

The vehicle will be made at the 500 million pounds factory of JLR in Solihuli, U.K. with new architecture including more aluminum. This will give a lightweight appeal to the vehicle making it revolutionary.

Apart from these, the event also marked the launch of the activity key for the first time in the automobile industry. It is a waterproof and shockproof wrist band that has an integrated transponder.

Regarding this, Peter Vrik, the Head of Connected Technologies and applications at JLR stated that it is suitable for those who love to indulge in outdoor leisure quests. If the driver wants to go surfing or any other adventurous activity, the driver can lock the keyfob securely in the vehicle. The car can be unlocked by presenting the activity key to the sensor that is hidden behind the alphabet J of Jaguar script at the rear of the SUV.
