Tata Sport hatchback showcased at Auto Expo 2016

Tata Motors has revealed new details about the Tata Sport hatchback at the Auto Expo 2016. The vehicle is the first commercial offering after the collaboration of Tata Motors with Jayem Automobiles based in Coimbatore. Tata has worked with the company for other projects such as one-off 230 hp Super Nano as well. The modifications that are made are mechanical as well visual.

Talking of the mechanical changes, the inclusions that have made are a remapped 1.2T MPFi engine that operates along with a free flow exhaust that produces a power of 110 PS at 5300 to 5500 rpm and a torque of 170 Nm at 3000 to 3800 rpm. The engine is teamed with a 5 speed manual gearbox and it enables the car to travel from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 12 seconds.

The suspension of the Tata Sport hatchback has also been revised with the inclusion of the re-tuned springs and dampers that provide a planted ride as well as a better stance. The steering wheel of the vehicle sports a performance calibrated brushless motor that is more precise for handling.

The Tata Sport has a wheelbase that extends to 2470 mm and its dimensions are 3916 mm in length, 1696 mm in width and 1537 mm in height. The vehicle has a fuel tank that can consume up to 44 litres of fuel.

When it comes to the exterior, the Tata Sport has a body kit that gives it a performance oriented appearance. The car has a new grille with air dam, rear bumpers, new front with air vents and 17 inch alloy wheels to give better performance and styling as well.

The interior of the car is modified to a great extent with the inclusion of sport pedal inserts along with embellishments of body color, leather wrapped steering wheel, bacl leather seats that have red detailing, and leather wrapped gearknob with contrast stitching.
