The U.S. burger chain Carl’s Jr will be launching its first restaurant in India at the Select Citywalk mall in the country’s capital New Delhi on August 8. This was announced by the company on Wednesday. The burger chain based in California will be the third largest burger brand that will foray into the Indian market in the recent months with Burger King and Wendy’s being the other two.

Carl’s Jr will introduce a customized menu in order to suit the taste of the locals. The menu will also include beer on tap and a soft beverages bar, claimed the company statement. Also, the menu will include an extensive vegetarian selection.

The burger brand is brought to India by Gurgaon based Cybiz Corp’s Cybiz BrightStar Restaurants via a master franchise agreement with the CKE Restaurants Holdings that is the parent company of Carl’s Jr. Ned Lyerly, the President (International) of CKE Restaurants Holdings claimed that the company had been studying the Indian market for over four years. He added that the burger chain has taken all the efforts to ensure that the consumers in India enjoy the same premium quality experience that the restaurant is known for across the world.

Regarding this, Sana Chopra, the Executive Director of Cybiz BrightStar Restaurants’ stated that Carl’s Jr is a mix of casual dining ambience, QSR speed of service and gourmet food quality.

The burger chain expects to launch around 100 stores all over India in the next 10 years. Earlier this month, Cybiz Corp announced that the company plans to increase about $200 million or approximately Rs 125 crore in tranches in order to scale up its presence in the high-potential eating out market in India. The amount will be an addition to the $2 million approximately Rs 12.5 crore that the Cybiz Corp already managed to raise from the private equity in the franchisees of Boombox Café, Elara Capital and Café OTB.
