As a full-size SUV with 4×4 capability, premium on-road refinement, superior luxury, and convenience, the Jeep Grand Cherokee made its debut 30 years ago. For2021, in a brand-new avatar with an upgraded 4×4 system and a Selec-Terrain traction control system with five terrain modes, FCA announced the Jeep Grand Cherokee L. With a spacious & comfortable cabin, the exterior architecture of the new Grand Cherokee L looks muscular but premium. The large SUV is fitted with the latest range of safety features along with the latest UConnect 5 infotainment system generation. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is the new 3-row SUV that will arrive at dealerships in the middle of the second quarter of2021, while the new Grand Cherokee two-row and its electrified variant are expected to launch later in 2021.
The proportion of the latest Grand Cherokee L was influenced by the original Wagoneer. The main focal point of the full-size SUV is the new slip LED headlights on the front, while the signature seven-slot grille has been revised to be broader with larger individual gaps. The 21-inch wheels are standard and the sleek LED taillamps are designed to reflect the rear dimensions visually. A lowered beltline and spacious glass make for a more roomy cabin and improved visibility from the side. A new window style tends to float courtesy of the roofline. With the Grand Cherokee L, the rear fascia, LED fog lamps, a rearview camera with washer, and an LED stop lamp are all new.
For the next-generation 10.1-inch screen for the new Uconnect 5 device, the interior of the 3-row Grand Cherokee L adds dimension and symmetry. A 10.25-inch frameless digital gauge cluster is also new, which fits well with the dashboard’s shiny piano black finish. A brand new drive control center with a backlit, metal rotary shifter, which gives haptic feedback when operated, highlights the center console. New cup holders allow more space and storage in the front bin, which can accommodate two wireless devices and has an optional wireless charger that can charge two devices at a time.
The Grand Cherokee L music is handled by a McIntosh audio sound system connected to 19 cabin-wide speakers, a 17-channel amplifier, and a 10-inch subwoofer. The first-row seats come with an electric 16-way customizable memory and lumbar position, while the first two rows of heated seats and three-level configurable controls are available for personalized passenger convenience. The rear cabin features soft, color-keyed armrests for the leather seats, extra storage, and cup holders, plus a range of 12 USB Type A and Type C ports for gadgets.
The model will be offered in the US with a standard 3.6-liter petrol V6 or the flagship 5.7-litre Hemi V8. Although the European-market standard car is yet to be verified, a range of smaller-capacity motor, plus a 4xe plug-in hybrid from the launch, is likely to be sold.
