ASUS to open 200 exclusive stores across Indian by end of 2014

May 17, 2014: India which is known as one of the largest growth markets for smart devices has seen a growth of 56.4 per cent  and has recently been witnessing some very aggressive move by players like Micromax, Lava and ASUS. ASUS a brand well known brand in the area of netbooks, tablets and hybrids which started setting up exclusive store in India in late 2011 opened its 100th store in the country. The brand which recently launched Fonepad is looking forward to increase its base in India with this strategy. ASUS has partnered with Google for its Nexus 7 tablet and it sells its hybrid tables under the Transformer Book range. The 100th store in India was opened in partnership with Ashish Computers World and the company is looking forward to open 200 exclusive stores across the country by the end of 2014.

Taiwanese technology firm ASUS is aiming to increase its market share 10 per cent this year by opening more retail stores and expanding its product portfolio. In the words of Peter Chang, ASUS Regional Head South Asia “Currently, we have single digit market share between 3-5 per cent. The Indian tablet market is estimated to be about 50 lakh units. We want to grow our share to 10 per cent this year.”

The company, which has partnered Google for its Nexus 7 table, sells its own brand of tablets under the FonePad range. It sells hybrid tablets (which can be used as a netbook) under the Transformer Book range.
