Raymond, the fabrics and garment firm realizing the online shopping trend announced its online store called RaymondNext.com. It is claimed that this e-commerce platform will integrate all the products, brands and services of Raymond together.
The firm has announced that foraying into the e-commerce industry is a forward step taken by the firm in order to guarantee increased visibility and product availability. Raymond has launched around five separate e-commerce brand websites for different brands such as Raymond,Park Avenue, ColorPlus and Parx, but all the platforms have a common shopping cart and the portals are optimized to be accessed by smartphones and tablets as well.
As claimed by Vijay Basrur of Raymond Limited Head of E-commerce, the e-tailing market is set to reach 32$ billion in 2020 and it makes perfect sense for Raymond to capture the growing consumer demand. At present, e-tailing is a small contributor to retail, but it is fast emerging as an alternate commercial platform over multiple product categories.
It is also revealed by the firm that it has invested in the warehouse with the ability to service a single product to a single consumer anywhere across the country and provide the ability to service to consumers all over the country with minimal investment relatively.
In future, RaymondNext.com will also be announcing a host of features such as caretaker service from Raymond ‘Made, to Measure’ wherein the customer can order tailored products right from their homes. In addition, Raymond’s e-commerce portal will also provide a selective online range of apparel that is exclusive only to the platform with no physical store availability.
The 89 year old men’s textile and apparel maker’s online entry is definitely a big bang on in the industry as the e-tailing and usage of mobile applications are pretty common. The firm has some of the leading brands in its portfolio and the list includes Raymond Ready-to-Wear,Park Avenue, Parx, ColorPlus and Makers among others.
