Maruti Launches New Alto K10, Priced from Rs 3.06 lakh Onwards

Maruti Suzuki India, the largest car maker in India announced the launch of a new variant of Alto K10 hatchback in the market on Monday. This new model is priced between Rs 3.06 lakh and Rs 3.82 lakh. The new Alto K10 hatchback is announced in six different variants namely, LX, LXi, VXi, VXi (O), VXi Automatic and LXi CNG that are priced at Rs 3.06 lakh, Rs 3.22 lakh, Rs 3.38 lakh, Rs 3.57 lakh, Rs 3.8 lakh and Rs 3.82 lakh respectively.

The new Alto K10 flaunts an all new look and borrows similar doors and roof as in the 800 version, however the bonnet, front fenders, tail gate and bumpers are unique to the K10. The vehicle comes with contemporary and larger head lamps, an aggressive air dam design and larger 13 inch wheels as well.

In terms of interiors, the new K10 comes with a new dashboard, dial tone finish, glossy black center console and matte silver highlights on the steering. The armrest, door handles and audio buttons look richer than those in older models adding to the overall appealing design.

The new Alto K10 arrives in two variants – a petrol version delivering a mileage of 24.07 km per litre and a CNG variant with a fuel economy of 32.26 km per kg respectively.

Regarding the launch of the vehicle, Managing Director and CEO at Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), Kenichi Ayukawa, claims that the Alto K10 is the third car from the vendor in a few weeks where the suppliers and engineers at the firm have proved their ability to improve the fuel efficiency significantly. Also, Maruti has positioned this vehicle as a mass market product that is equipped with futuristic technology for those demanding and value for money seeking consumers.

Following Celerio, the new Alto K10 is the second model to arrive with auto gear shift (ASG) feature and it comes at the right time when the mini market segment of MSI involving Alto and WagonR experienced a drop of 1.3 percent in the time frame between April and September this fiscal. Basically, the sales volume reduced to 2,01,721 units from 2,04,335 units in the time frame last year.
