Xiaomi Redmi Note launched at an aggressive price of Rs 8,999

Chinese mobile handset maker has announced the launch of its Redmi Note at an aggressive price of Rs.8,999. Though it was speculated earlier that it would be launched close to Rs.10,000 band, Xiaomi has surprised its critics by lowering its price for the launch. The Redmi Note which would be available in India in two variants one which supports 3G network and the other one which supports 4G network comes would be different in terms of its processor. The handset which supports 3G network is priced at Rs.8,999 and uses Mediatek processor whereas the handset which supports 4G network uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and is priced at Rs.9,999.

In terms of looks, Xiaomi Redmi Note looks more or less similar to Redmi 1S and has all plastic body. Redmi Note which features a 5.5 inch HD display with IPS screen and Gorilla Glass 3 for protection weighs 199 grams. The 3G version of Redmi note supports dual SIM whereas the 4G version supports single SIM.

Apart from these features, Redmi note has got a pocket mode which locks the screen automatically to prevent accidental touches when the phone is kept in a pocket.
