Samsung announced the launch of the four new smartphones in the Indian market on Tuesday of which two were global announcements. Well, the South Korean tech titan was highly anticipated to release the metal clad Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones the market and it did do that for Rs 20,500 and Rs 25,500 respectively.
Notably, along with the Galaxy A3 and A5 smartphones, Samsung also launched the Galaxy E5 and E7 smartphones that were circulating in rumors lately. The Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 are priced at Rs 19,700 and Rs 23,000 respectively and they will go on sale starting from January 20. Also, Samsung is prepping to launch more smartphones that support 4G connectivity inIndiawith price tags touching almost Rs 25,000.
This year, Samsung is believed to launch a couple more 4G enabled smartphones and regarding this, Asim Warsi, Vice President of Mobile Marketing at Samsung added that the firm is hoping that 4G will become inevitable this year. However, the firm expects the consumers to initially move to 3G from 2G and then gradually move on to 4G networks. Notably, thoughIndiahas 3G services established, most subscribers are still using 2G.
As of now, Samsung is facing a great rivalry with theIndiabased vendors such as Micromax, Karbonn and Lava and global players including Xiaomi and Motorola. It will have to come up with reasonably priced 4G smartphones to lure consumers towards it and regain the lost battle in the Indian market.
Talking of the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7, they run Android 4.4 KitKat and feature a new aspect called Hybrid Dual SIM that will allow the second SIM card slot to be used as a micro SD card slot.
Galaxy E5 is given a 5 inch Super AMOLED display and it is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor of unspecified chipset backed by 1.5 GB of RAM. There is an 8 MP primary camera with auto focus and LED flash and a 5 MP front facing selfie snapper as well.
There is 16 GB of inbuilt storage that can be extended externally by another 64 GB using a micro SD card. There are connectivity aspects such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS and 2,400 mAh battery.
The Galaxy E7, on the other houses a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display and is fueled by an unspecified 1.2 GHz quad core processor teamed up with 2 GB of RAM. There is a 13 MP rear auto focus camera with LED flash at the handset’s rear and a 5 MP front facer as well onboard. With similar storage options, it comes with 4G connectivity and a 2,950 mAh battery.
Both smartphones arrive with wide angle selfie, selfie voice command, selfie with palm gesture and beauty face features. Also, there is ultra power saving mode for enhanced backup and private mode. In addition, Vodafone subscribers will receive 2 GB of 3G data per month for two months on purchasing the smartphone.
