Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) held a premiere of the compact SUV Creta at its Chennai plant a few days back. The manufacturer let a ten minute spin on the vehicle and here is a brief overview of the car’s driving impressive.

The Hyundai Creta is identical to the ix25 sold in China in terms of its exterior. The vehicle’s dimension is yet to be revealed n India, buy we can expect its overall length to measure 4.27 meters.

The Creta will be launched in four variants such as Base, S, SX and SX (O). The SX (O) has projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, chrome door handles, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, wing mirror integrated turn signals and rear wiper and washer.

When it comes to the interior, the Creta has a solid build quality, layout and well executed design. It has a spacious and feature rich cabin. Hyundai has taken their premium interior a step further with the solid VW-like feel on the doors when you open and close them. Also, the door panels on the top end Create SX (O) have leather lining with contrast sketching as in the luxury brands.

The 3-spoke steering wheel on the Creta with leather wrapping rests at the front of the vehicle. A 7 inch touch screen AVN system is available in between the vents. It is a completely automatic climate control system and there is enough space to house your phone or media device as well under this system.

There is generous legroom at the back and the boot is also well shaped with a low loading lip. The boot volume should be around 400 litres. The other aspects of the Creta include leather seats, 6 airbags, smart key with push button, 6 speaker audio system, rear AC vents, shark fin antenna, electric folding wing mirrors, 1 GB internal storage space, FATC with ionizer and steering controls. Refinement levels of this VGT unit are easily the best in segment. At idle, its very hard to make this out to be a diesel engine.

On the whole, the compact SUV Creta appeals on all fronts such as looks, interior design and build quality, space, features, engine and gearbox, and even ride. Though all the aspects seem to be promising, we need to wait for a full road test to know its characteristics.
