WROGN, the youth fashion brand that is co-owned by Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket test captain and Universal Sportsbiz is now on an expansion spree. The brand is planning to open elite stores in the metro cities apart from enhancing its other points of sales.
This fiscal, the WROGN brand will lunch five exclusive stores in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Apart from these, the brand will open almost ten shop-in-shops at the Shoppers Stop stores.
As per the Founder of Universal Sportsbiz, Anjana Reddy, they have doubled the number of stores to about 60 to 65 in the Shoppers Stop chain. By the end of the current fiscal WROGN is planning to have 72 such stores. It has been stated that they are looking forward to open five flagship stores in this fiscal year.
As per the executive, the company is focused on enhancing its market presence in the next two or three years. As cricket is popular, it is expected that the brand will go on sale in the overseas market as well.
She further stated that on association with Virat Kohli with much interest and involvement in the brand, it is definite that they will be successful in the future. He is a part of the selection of design process as well.
Besides the physical stores, the WROGN brand apparels are available exclusively via the online retailer Myntra. The portal contributes to a maximum of 40 percent to the revenue of the brand.
The other independent brand called Imara is an ethnic wear fashion lineup from Universal Sportsbiz. The Imara said that it will undergo a retail expansion to have 72 point of sales centers. She also revealed the overall revenue of Universal Sportsbiz is aimed to be $10 million by this year end with the WROGN and Imara brands.
She made it clear that they are aiming to have 150 points of sales centers by this year end with Shoppers Stop. Both the brands are expected to contribute to the same level.
