Aug 23, 2012: Accel Partners invested Rs 100 crore in Mumbai based online ticket company Bigtree Entertainment. The new deals marks one of the largest investment made by Accel Partners in India. BigTree Entertainment runs online ticket company BookMyShow.com The site helps its clients to purchase ticket for latest movies, music concerts, plays, stand-up comic acts and sporting events in India.
The company has managed to raise a total of Rs 138 crore of capital. Currently Accel and Network 18, a medium firm owns the majority stake in BigTree Entertainment. According to industry analysts, capital investment in e-commerce industry is increasing as more and more consumers are turning to online transactions.
