How companies appreciated their employees on Retail Employees Day

On the day of celebration of the Retail Employees, there was much love and appreciation for the front-line workers of the retail industry. India, with its 46 million employees, wholeheartedly commended its employees for their efforts in the field especially during this time of the pandemic. The movement is currently celebrated in five counties viz. Turkey, UAE, India, Philippines, and Bangladesh with this being the tenth year of celebration.

BS Nagesh, Founder of TRRAIN said that If the year 2020 has taught him one thing, it is gratitude, especially towards frontline retail employees and retailers who provided us essentials in a time of need while still risking their own health. He also added that customers must thank the employees for their service. Bijou, the chairman of the Retailers Association India said that When the whole of India was locked down, our Retail employees braved transport, health, and family pressures to ensure that Stores were kept open and that consumers got a chance to stock up their pantries and keep their kitchens running. He also said that we should thank the retail workers for what they do for us on a daily basis. Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO of the Retailers Association of India said that the pandemic has really brought forth the capability of retailers and retail employees to selflessly serve consumers. He also said that the retailers overcame many challenges with the persistent efforts of their employees to ensure supply, storage, retail, and delivery of essential products while risking their lives to ensure that the customer needs for food and essentials are met. Many CEOs of different companies and brands came out showing their support for their employees.

Each brand showed its support for its employees in different ways. Aravind brand sent ecards to their employees and had the CEO create a video message for them. Big Basket gave a grand welcome to their employees with cake cutting and a special lunch. Reliance retail thew a party at each store and played thank you messages on the radio.
