Tencent, a Chinese tech firm, has announced that PUBG Mobile has reached the 100 million download mark outside of China.

The game, which requires a group of players from various locations to compete at the same time, ends when only one of the combatants survives after all others have been eliminated.

Outside of China, PUBG Mobile, which was released worldwide in 2018, has been downloaded 100 million times. The game, which has millions of fans, has now reached yet another landmark, putting it in the company of some of the best games in the world.

PUBG Mobile, the mobile edition of Player unknown’s Battlegrounds, was released in 2018 and has since remained unrivaled by its rivals, capturing the hearts of the younger generation. However, PUBG Mobile was banned in India last year due to concerns about Chinese applications. The game, which requires a group of players from various locations to compete at the same time, ends when only one of the combatants survives after all others have been eliminated.

According to the new download figures published by the company, the game is now just two games behind Kiloo Games’ Subway Surfers and King Digital Entertainment’s Candy Crush Saga in terms of download numbers.

Tencent, a Chinese technology firm, is the world’s largest gaming company by sales. Peacekeeper Elite is one of the company’s other famous games. Also, the company recently announced that its fourth-quarter sales rose by a whopping 29 percent.

Sensor Tower, an intelligence and analytics company, shared data in July 2020 reporting that PUBG had received 24% of the 734 million downloads from Indian users or 175 million downloads. This was true until July 2020, after which there was no record because the game was banned in India on September 2nd, 2020 for security reasons. The statistics indicate that Indian players played a major role in achieving the 1 billion PUBG Mobile global download landmark, but the game was eventually banned as a result of Tencent’s data-sharing activity with the Chinese government.
