Marketing process outsourcing as you know  is the process of outsourcing various facets of marketing activities to a third party. But does it mean that just by outsourcing, you get all your marketing activities done right?. In most of the cases the answer would be a no…

So how can you get them done right? For that you should focus on these five elements while outsourcing your marketing process

Stop treating marketing strategies as a set of “to-do” things:

Many of the companies treat their marketing strategies as some unrelated activity from their core business and their marketing process outsourcing partner as someone who is hired to complete some to-do lists. If you want MPO work for you properly, access the activities and give constructive feedback to your partner. Consider the feedbacks and discussions as a learning experience.

Understand that marketing is not all about sales:

Most of the companies especially IT companies consider marketing as something related to pre-sales support and customer visits. These companies should first understand that marketing is not about only sales but also include segmentation, targeting, positioning and customer service and many more. Without having a broader understanding of the marketing concepts you cannot sustain in the market.

Customize your marketing goals:

Marketing goals for all the departments will not be the same for all the departments. Discuss with your MPO and set separate marketing goals for all the departments but make sure that it aligns with overall marketing objective of your company.

Don’t forget to set metrics

Make sure you set the right metrics to measure the performance of your MPO partner.

Outsource to single provider

Avoid outsourcing to multiple providers. When you outsource to a single provider, you can make sure that the MPO partner understands the individual as well as overall goals of your company’s marketing strategies.
