Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd. (MEML) has just proclaimed the appointment of Suman Mishra as its new Chief Executive. Suman will join his new role from 14th August 2021. The company’s handout says that she is going to be the Chief Executive Designate for the walk Mobility business.
Mishra changes from her present role of Senior vice chairman Business Transformation, Insights and Analytics (BIA) for the Automotive Sector and can be reporting to Rajesh Jejurikar, executive of Auto and Farm Sectors in Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. In her new role, Suman Mishra replaces Mahesh Babu, MD & CEO of MEML who has decided to follow opportunities outside the Mahindra Group.
Suman Mishra has 20 years of worldwide experience in end-to-end performance transformation across sales and strategy, costs, products, manufacturing, purchasing, and provide chain. Mishra joined Mahindra Group in the year 2015 as a Senior Vice President in Group Strategy Office and she played an important role in influencing and applying strategies over the automotive business, Agri, land, hospitality, and electric vehicles, the corporate noted.
Suman Mishra was connected to Cipla and McKinsey where she controlled performance transformations and business turnaround over multiple brands before joining Mahindra Group. Suman Mishra is an MBA graduate from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, and a Computer Engineer from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
Speaking about the newest announcement that is, Rajesh Jejurikar, executive, Auto, and Farm Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., and Chairperson, Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd., said that Mahesh has been an integral part of Mahindra’s growth journey over the years. He also added that having joined in 1998, Mahesh has meaningfully contributed to the organization in his various times in Auto development than leading Mahindra Electric as CEO throughout his journey at Mahindra within the last 22 years.
Jejurikar further stated that Suman is an accomplished baron with global experience in leading transformation projects across multiple sectors. He also said electric mobility may be a key focus area for Mahindra, and therefore before the company has put in a strong strategy to maximize the opportunities in the Last-Mile Mobility and the launch of its Born EV platform.
