Enhancement of Customer Experience by Vodafone Idea and IBM

In the recent announcement, Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) selects IBM to be its strategic technology partner for the adoption of open source technologies. IBM will assist VIL to on-board open source platforms at scale across the organization by implementing the Big Data Platform on the open-source Hadoop framework. IBM will be responsible for end-to-end implementation and management of the Big Data Platform. 

IBM will benefit Vodafone Idea in the following ways: –

• IBM is taking responsibility for consulting, system integration, infrastructure services, application operations, program management, and maintenance support.
• Enhancement in network security with the help of IBM 
• The overall reduction in the cost of data analytics: The insights from advanced data mining will reduce time in decision making for employees and partners & up-gradation of omnichannel and digital-first experience for end consumers.

IBM has been working with Vodafone Idea for more than a decade. Recent implementations will be built on IBM’s existing work and advance VIL’s hybrid cloud transformation with the use of open source technologies. IBM will also deliver its Open Universal Cloud with IBM and Red Hat to empower network and IT modernization as per agreement earlier this year.

Vodafone Idea has the world’s largest IT and network integration, required data transformation on large scale with more emphasis on open-source adoption, architecture modernization, and the use of predictive analytics for data modernization.

IBM will assist Vodafone Idea on the improvement of data optimization and its delivery to partners, employees, and internal systems. Earlier fragmented data will be integrated for seamless data availability and processes. Vodafone Idea would reduce cost, enhance revenues, and increase customer experience with the capabilities to merge insights from the Big Data Platform and better leverage cloud technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).

VIL leverages multiple applications from insights gained from data like management of Dashboards and campaigns, in network analytics, analysis of usage traffic and product, and many more.
