#DiwaliWaliSafai campaign by Panasonic

Panasonic India reputed and leading technology brand marked International e-waste Day by introducing the #DiwaliWaliSafai campaign to ensure responsible disposal of e-waste.

This is the second edition of the awareness campaign. In the year 2019-2020, India generated estimated e-waste of 1,014,960 tonnes which is only less than china and the USA.

Diwali Safai is an effort to alarm users about the rise of e-waste and the need for its disposal and recycling.

#DiwaliWaliSafai aims to build a greener ecosystem and a better tomorrow for the next generation. The campaign is an effort to utilise the ritual of cleaning during the festive season, a common practice.

Panasonic is inspiring them to responsibly spread awareness and actively dispose of e-waste, for a better tomorrow.

Harit Umang – Joy of Green programme at Panasonic is an endeavour to nurture the ecosystem by sustainable practices, creating awareness, and ensuring responsible behaviour through engagements with users and communities.

#DiwaliWaliSafai campaign is obvious of this belief of awareness and responsibility, said Ms Ritu Ghosh, Head, Corporate Affairs & CSR, Panasonic India.

Panasonic is also engaging its users through various social media contests on its handle.

Creating awareness and ensuring responsibility by urging customers to share selfies while disposing of e-waste and get a chance to win, Panasonic home appliances including LED TV, Washing Machine, Air Conditioner, Refrigerator, Microwave, Vacuum Cleaners and grooming kits. The contest is live till 24th October 2021.

We started the campaign last year, the response and feedback were overwhelming. We aim at making #DiwaliWaliSafai our flagship campaign to drive awareness and responsibility for the disposal of e-waste. Last year 20million users participated. Diwali is that the most celebrated festival in India. Lots of customs and practices are involved, lighting, firecracker, delicious meals, Lakshmi pooja, and replacing old items with new ones. Cleaning is a crucial part of the practice. Panasonic endeavours to tap the cleaning ritual.

Panasonic attempts to invoke awareness and responsibility about the most concerning threat to the environment e-waste. Panasonic offers free of cost home pickups of large appliances and assistance in finding the closest collection centres.
