The Premier Handball League (PHL) has announced the introduction of Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh, a new franchise from Pavna Group, Southeast Asia’s largest automobile parts solution firm.
The Pavna Group, a 500 crore corporate organization active in sports, manufacturing, and education with a presence in India and overseas, owns Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh. The Pavna Group has been effectively functioning for over 50 years. The franchise will be one of the six teams competing in the PHL’s much-anticipated first season. Garvit Gujarat was announced as the league’s inaugural franchise earlier this year.
The PHL, which is completely licensed by Bluesport Entertainment Pvt Ltd under the aegis of the Handball Federation of India (HFI), aims to commercialize the Indian handball ecosystem, and the Pavna Group’s involvement will not only build up the league’s commercial viability but also help it achieve its mission of promoting handball across the country.

The Aligarh-based firm, which is a market leader in Southeast Asia, is also making an impact in Europe. It aspires to promote handball in Uttar Pradesh and place the state on the international map by developing world-class athletes from the region. It is led by young entrepreneur Swapnil Jain, a all-round man with a keen interest in the sport.
“Handball is a popular sport in India, with most schools including it in their sports curricula. However, its popularity has waned over time. We want to see handball reclaim its grandeur, and we believe that working together with PHL will help us reach that goal. The first season of the PHL, which will begin next year, will provide fans with an exhilarating and never-before-seen experience, as well as an opportunity for Indian players to rub shoulders with top international players from around the world and improve their skills.
