Samsung and discovery awareness programme to protect tigers

Through a content relationship centered on Discovery’s Project C.A.T., Samsung and Discovery, Inc., a global leader in real-life entertainment, are raising awareness for the need to protect and conserve tigers in the wild to audiences all over the world (Conserving Acres for Tigers).

A spectacular short film, Eye to Eye with the Tiger, was developed as part of the partnership to assist raise awareness of the effort. The film follows wildlife photographer Yashas Narayan on a mission to track, film, and photograph a tiger in the wild, shot on the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.

For the most disenfranchised, this important sector also promotes local economies, alternative livelihoods, and climate justice. Discovery has joined conservation organizations in their lofty objective of doubling the wild tiger population by 2022, the Chinese Zodiac’s Year of the Tiger.

Mr. Narayan travels around India with BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Vikram Singh, who also serves as the film’s director, to meet a tiger while shedding light on the perils this majestic animal faces in the wild in Eye to Eye with the Tiger.

Narayan hunts for tiger footprints and notes indicators from prey species as he draws closer to the moment he would see a tiger with the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, accompanied by a local environmentalist.

When Narayan comes face to face with a tiger pursuing prey, the film achieves its peak, a moment that embodies the beauty of this animal and brings to life the aim of Project C.A.T.

Tigers are among the most cherished creatures on the planet, and now, via this first-of-its-kind relationship with Samsung and Project C.A.T., we are extending our goal to assure a future for tigers so that there will always be stories to tell.”

We hope to use our extremely high-resolution camera to showcase the magnificence of one of the world’s most majestic animals while also increasing awareness about the necessity of tiger conservation in the years to come as a result of our collaboration.”
