SonyLIV launches Shark Tank India

Shark Tank, the world’s most popular business reality program, is gearing up for its first season in India, with a thriving and dynamic business environment in the background.

Through Shark Tank India, Sony Entertainment Television promises to provide a reinvigorating experience for business enthusiasts by providing an opportunity for entrepreneurs with interesting business ideas, business prototypes, or active businesses to be evaluated by business experts known as The Sharks.

As co-presenting sponsors, SonyLIV has collaborated with UpGrad, Acko General Insurance, and Black Dog Drinking Soda; Cashfree Payments as Payments Partner; Flipkart as Digital Partner; and Dell Technologies as Technology Partner for Shark Tank India.

The Sharks of the Indian edition are Ghazal Alagh (Co-founder (co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer at boAt) Ashneer Grover (Founder and Managing Director of BharatPe), Peeyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart) Singh (CEO & Co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com – People Group), G.

These Sharks will assess the potential of aspiring entrepreneurs from around India before investing in the ideas that these young entrepreneurs have to offer.

With India’s burgeoning startup environment and Indians’ eagerness to learn more about business growth and success, SonyLIV sold out around 75 percent of its ad space two months before the event premiered.

Senior vice president and head of ad revenue for Sony LIV at Sony Pictures Networks India – Digital Business, Ranjana Mangla said that Shark Tank India provides India’s entrepreneurs with a wonderful opportunity to break into the business world.

They will be adding to our library of diverse, entertaining material with the introduction of Shark Tank in India.
