Goa, December 20, 2021: Firm on the desire to reimagine a healthier world and strongly committed to step forward to make a change and innovate on sustainability, The Bennet & Bernard Company, leading luxury home builders and passionate restaurateurs in Goa, have announced a unique campaign highlighting the importance of reusing and re-creating plastic waste this Christmas. As part of the campaign, over 1200+ plastic bottles were collected from restaurants, roads, beaches etc, which have been recycled and used to create an exquisite and unique Christmas tree this year to convey a green message– Recycle, Reuse, Re-create – and hence Re-imagine a healthier world. The purpose of this signature campaign is an effort to reduce carbon footprint by steps towards waste reduction, which is the need of the hour.

Bennet and Bernard aims to generate awareness on environmental protection, which is one of the toughest challenges in the context of nature being degraded systematically over the years. The world is in a state of climate emergency and it is imperative that measures are taken immediately to restore the environment to its pristine and pure state and this campaign is an endeavour towards that cause.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Lincoln Bennet Rodrigues, Chairman & Founder, The Bennet & Bernard Company said: “As a champion of environmental transformation, our company is committed to reducing plastic waste and promoting ecology. This Christmas tree made out of wasted plastic bottles is a step towards creating a sustainable alternative and we share the same ambitions and values of all those who herald the green cause. If we don’t set higher values for ourselves, we will not be able to meet the needs of future generations. We aim to show that opportunities are endless when we rethink our approach to waste. The company is committed to making a difference to our environment.”

Ms. Fabiola Mendes e Rodrigues, Director, The Bennet & Bernard Company said: “As a tourism state, it is not very unpopular for roads and beaches to have a lot of plastic waste strewn across. This has become a problem and efforts are underway to curb the problem. What we saw in the problem was the opportunity to create something unique, and in a drive, all the plastic bottles were collected and planned towards creating this unique Christmas tree. We would like people to take inspiration from this and creatively look at options to protect nature. To create a plastic-free world is not a dream, but an attainable goal, and all our efforts should be geared towards furthering this noble and healthy cause. We hope other brands will be inspired to think creatively about waste and make the circular economy a reality.”

The campaign encompasses giving back to society. Post-Christmas the bottles will be reused for hedges for small garden patches, making roofs for roadside animal shelters, etc. In the last two years, the pandemic has shown the importance and vitality of hygiene and good health. Being creative about protecting nature rejuvenates mental and emotional wellbeing. Moreover, with the busy lifestyle that people now lead, a step towards the green initiative creates an opportunity to get outdoors and breathe fresh air. This further prompts us to take steps to build a safe biodiverse world.
