Schools closing amidst Covid spike; Bangalore

The Karnataka Government decides to shut schools and pre-university colleges amidst the covid cases that are rising due to the Omicron variant. All classes except the 10th and 12th std classes, nursing, and medical colleges will remain closed for two weeks.

The Karnataka government decided to impose the night curfew during the weekends from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am and to shut down schools and pre-university colleges to control the covid spike.

The decision was also made to extend the night curfew as the state is alarmed with the rising cases of the Omicron Variant. The Minister added that the rules will come into action from Wednesday and asked the people of the city to cooperate with the same.

During the weekend curfew, all the essential services and needs will be delivered either at your doorstep or small grocery stalls will be open near to your place for a small time and will be shut down later. 

Along with the extension of the night curfew the government also imposed rules on the social distancing and the number of people that should be present in crowds. 

The government imposed only 200 people should be present for the marriage and 100 in the marriage halls. Adding to that there should only be 50% occupancy in pubs, bars, cinema halls, and malls.

The people who visit these people must have the certificate of the two doses of the vaccine and strictly follow the rules implemented by the government social distancing, using sanitizer and wearing maks the most important of all.

The government also decided to have a negative RT-PCR test report for the people who are coming from other states such as Delhi, Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra, etc. 

The government offices will have to follow the rules initiated by the government 50% from work from home and the main heads have to report to the office.

The latest reports of the state had 2,479 cases on Tuesday. Since the new years, the cases of the city is above 1000. 

The government decided to close the schools mainly was because the Omicron variant is primarily focusing on children and to complete the vaccination the government recently started for children and get them vaccinated and open the schools.

Karnataka has also enrolled the vaccination for children starting the age group from 15-18 years. The government is making sure that all the children get vaccinated with at least the first dose by the end of January.

The schools and colleges will reopen after the state witnessed a downfall in the number of cases and after half of the population among the children gets vaccinated. 

The government asks the public to strictly follow the covid protocols ensured by the government and be safe from the third wave of Covid.

If anyone is not following the rules shall be fine for the same and legal actions will be taken.
