2021 was a year of transition and a never-ending roller coaster journey for both kids and adults. Despite the difficulties, Nickelodeon is committed to its commitment of putting children first, ensuring that children remain happy and free to express themselves.
With the belief that every voice matters, Nickelodeon is gearing up to once again empower and entertain children with its flagship brand initiative, the ‘Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2021,’ the country’s only awards show that allows children to vote and select their favorites across multiple categories.
The virtual version of the Kids’ Choice Awards 2020 was a smash hit, garnering 1.5 million votes, the most ever. The awards will be brought to life online this year as well, with various cutting-edge improvements and innovations that are likely to appeal to both children and parents.
Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards has slowly and effectively evolved into one of the most recognizable brand IPs in the children’s category. In addition to existing categories like Favorite Youtuber, Favorite Dancer, Favorite Mobile Game, and others, Nickelodeon’s KCA 2021 will see the addition of fresh relevant categories including Favorite Environmentalists, Favorite Sibling Jodi, and Favorite Fashion Icon.
Furthermore, to recognize talent from all throughout the country, the KCA will introduce south-focused categories in 2021. As in previous years, the champions will receive the coveted Nickelodeon blimp and will be slimed as a symbol of honor!
The orange carpet has seen the who’s who of Bollywood, including Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and a slew of other celebrities compete for the coveted balloon.
The nominations were gathered as part of a survey to find out who and what were the kids’ favorite things to do when they were cooped up inside during the lockdown. The ability to vote has been expanded even further, allowing every child to express their preference.
Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards 2021 will include a unique and novel marketing strategy that will pull out all the stops. The program will have unique, platform-specific engagements across Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and MX TakaTak, to mention a few, in addition to on-air promos across the franchise.
Kids will be entertained by specially tailored superfan contests and activities. Celebrities will give winners a tutorial on social media platforms. The KCA Gang of influencers will be out in force to help spread the word.
Nickelodeon has worked with 99 Pancakes to create exclusive KCA 2021 combos, taking the overall marketing push a step further.

She added that Nickelodeon has adjusted to the new normal in order to remain the most sought-after source of meaningful entertainment for children.
