Anand Mahindra is looking for fresh blood in order to power his group’s movement to digital. The company is on the stalk for 20 high powered individuals to make it more digital savvy as the Indian businesses are going through a technological disruption phase right now.

Last year, he hired Anish Shah from GE Capital as the group president for strategy. Especially, Mahindra Group is looking for people proficient in innovation, analytics, digital and customer insight. Some of the new hires will be a part of the main strategy team. Shah told that they are looking forward to hire 20 high powered people. They want people with in-depth level of expertise to help in their businesses. If they have experts who have the experience in the same, and a great knowledge of the digital space, then it will be of help in creating a great digital solution for their businesses.

Mahindra Group has kick started the preparation by hiring Jaspreet Bindra, the CEO of Askme.com as the Senior Vice President of its digital innovation and e-commerce segment. This move took place in July to drive the automation and for the implementation of digital technologies.

In September, the team added Namrita Mahindro, the former Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces’ associate vice president for the internet marketing segment. The group also roped in George Westerman of MIT Sloan School of Management’s digital research scientist as a consultant to take up a detailed digital diagnostics of the group’s 18 sectors. These sectors cover information technology, tractors and finance.

Mahindra Group is not the only conglomerate to lure talent across the digital field. The old business houses including Reliance Industries and Tata Group are also hiring talent for the newly built digital teams. This way, they can survive and take advantage of the new technologies. Especially, the startups have become the productive poaching ground for these business houses.
