Ashish Mishra, the Managing Director of Interbrand stated that Tata’s strong position in brand value is due to Tata Consulting Services. Following Tata, Reliance and Airtel emerged at the second and third positions. The two companies retained their positions similar to the last year. Then, LIC and State Bank of India followed falling at the fourth and fifth positions. These two firms have exchanged their positions from the last year’s list.
The high risers this year are HCL with 27%, Kotak with 24%, Tanishq with 20%, Infosys and Asian Paints with 19% each. The study followed the same methodology that involves financial analysis, brand strength scores, and role of brand index from the last year. However, the no of brands is 30 and not 40 as in the last year. This year, the latest entrant to the list of top brands is Zee Entertainment Enterprises.
The Global CEO of Interbrand, Jez Frampton, stated that India is one of the fastest growing economies across the world, and it presents a slew of opportunities and distinct challenge to the brand leader. Of the brands listed as the 30 best ones in the country, some are likely to rise as they have picked up the speed. They are not only keeping pace with the quickly developing country, but also keeping pace with the continuously changing needs of consumers in the country. These brands are to influence the other brands that foray into the market. They are creating a path that many brands might follow in the future.
