Meta is again being put on trial by the users of their products. Recently, it has been hit by eight different lawsuits in the US.
There have been various complaints from its users that the products are harmful. There have been cases when people claim that Meta has created products without caring about the younger audience.
Previously, there have been cases when the Meta products were considered responsible by the people for the suicide cases of some users. The users were becoming more mentally affected by using the social media platforms of Meta.
Meta has been facing such issues for quite some time now. They are being blamed for the various mental issues of their users.
Naomi Charles, a 22-year-old woman, has also complained against Meta. She claims that she started using Meta products as a teenager. But as she grew up, her addiction to social media led her to suicidal thoughts and many other issues.
Amid all these, Meta says that it is working on introducing new tools for its teenage and young users. They will help parents to monitor their kid’s activities online. They also said that their products send a notification to take a break to their users, once they have been online for a long time.
The law firm which filed the lawsuit, also claims that Meta used its products for corporate beneficial purposes. As opposed to the initial plan of creating useful products for the public.
Now, Meta will have to face all these allegations. The lawsuits have been filed in Texas, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, Delaware, Illinois, Missouri, and Florida.
On another front, Meta is trying hard to push the metaverse. It has been showing its progress to the world in the metaverse at various events. It is likely to pursue more in this field. It is expecting people to use the metaverse more than ever.
All of these will have some effects on the overall performance of the company. The company has been able to beat its competition in some unique ways. The company is still relevant in the market. It shows the commitment of Mark Zuckerberg toward his company and its future.
