Garima will take over for Viraj Chouhan, who will be promoted to Vice President, Global Market Communications.
Garima Singh has been appointed as the head of Government Affairs and Communications at PepsiCo India. Garima succeeds Viraj Chouhan, who has been promoted to vice president of global market communications.
Garima was formerly the head of corporate affairs at HeroMotoCorp, and in her 20+ years of expertise, she has led public relations mandates for firms such as Mondelez, Apple, and Mahindra & Mahindra, among others. Garima will be a significant business partner for PepsiCo India, addressing long-term policy risks and opportunities to drive public policy decisions for the company’s sustainable, responsible growth.
On the other hand, Viraj will take on a worldwide position, serving as the focal point for all global market communications teams based outside of the United States, overseeing internal and external communications. He will lead the Markets Center of Excellence, offering support and advice to teams and driving excellent outcomes in areas such as pep+, Diversity, Engagement & Inclusion, Digital Transformation, and Community.
Viraj has over 25 years of experience in the industry and joined PepsiCo India in November 2018. He was an essential member of the India leadership team. Viraj has been key in developing a world-class, integrated function that has achieved huge victories in all work areas as Chief Government Affairs and Communications Officer. He has actively supported some of PepsiCo India’s most iconic brand PR efforts, including Pepsi Swag, Lay’s Smiles, and Heartwork. On the sustainability front, he has been a leading force behind the PepsiCo ecosystem in India’s goal of collecting and disposing of 100% of post-consumer plastic trash by December 2021.
He most recently managed the 360-degree stakeholder engagement plan for the UP Greenfield Foods manufacturing factory in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, to completion. Land purchase and hundreds of approvals from the UP state government were also part of the project.
