93.5 RED FM, which recently launched Red FM Ladakh in the Himalayas, is collaborating with the “Ladakh Marathon.” Red FM is honored to be involved as their radio partner in their ninth edition of what is regarded as one of the toughest marathons in the nation.

Rimo Expeditions organized the first Ladakh Marathon in 2012 to inspire young people to take up running as a healthy lifestyle and to compete. It currently consists of six separate competitions, ranging in difficulty from the short 5-kilometer run to the 122-kilometer Silk Route Ultra.

From a few hundred in the first edition to thousands up until the eighth edition in 2019, the event’s attendance has significantly increased. The Ladakh Marathon has developed into a significant event on the world marathon calendar over time.

Nisha Narayanan, Director & COO of RED FM and Magic FM, commented on the news, saying, “Red FM is thrilled to be affiliated with and support the Ladakh Marathon. It has been a genuine pleasure to get to know Motup Chewang, the visionary who started this modest endeavor. This is our first-ever collaboration with RED FM, which only recently commenced operations in Leh. We have faith in the strength of partnerships and community development.

“This association would assist us in connecting with the Ladakh marathon runners from around the globe. In addition to engaging people in Ladakh, our strategy is to use our network to spread awareness of the marathon across the nation and entice others to watch or participate in it. Narayanan tacked on.

The Khardungla Challenge’s founder and race director, Chewang Motup Goba, commented on the project: “I am very honored to be connected with Red FM, the official radio partner for the Ladakh Marathon. When I first organized this event in 2012, I had no idea it would have such a large audience. The Ladakh Marathon, one of the toughest and highest races in the world, is now competing for attention on the international racing calendar with a number of other prominent marathons.

By collaborating with Red FM, we hope to increase the number of Indians who see sports’ potential. I wish to see the youth stand up and take on additional challenges like the Ladakh Marathon now that Red FM has been launched in Ladakh—which is another incredible milestone.

Tune in to hear from some of the Ladakh Marathon runners and follow all the live action from Leh on the RED FM network.a
