Audi to focus only on electric vehicles from 2033:Official

Audi, One of the top car manufacturer company, has stated that the production of cars that run on international combustion engines(ICE) will be stopped by 2033 and would be focusing on manufacturing electric vehicles.

Audi would stop production of current models powered by ICE and would initiate adaptations to sell only electric vehicles from 2033 onward, said the head of Audi Balbir Singh Dhillon.

Audi has reported that it sold 1765 units in 2022 between January to June period. This positive sales growth has strengthened by a new product launches, coupled with a strong demand for Audi e-tron models, Q5 and Q7 SUVs, and A4 and A6 sedans. Furthermore, the Indian arm of the German luxury car manufacturer confirmed the launch of their flagship luxury sedan, the A8 L on July 12th.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, The Head of Audi India stated that The Audi A8 L is a symbol of implacable transport and the latest model brings in even more attractiveness, comfort and technology. With the new Audi A8 L, we are offering our astute customers greater choice and wider personalisation options as well.

The head also pointed out in his previous interview that The first six months of 2022 have seen a healthy sales growth of 49%. We continue to lead the charge with our electric vehicles – the Audi e-tron 50 and 55, the Audi e-tron sport back and Audi e-tron GT range. Our petrol-powered portfolio including the Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi A4 and Audi A6 are doing good numbers and our S/RS models continue to shine with a strong order bank for 2022.

Responding to a query about an incident of battery vehicles going up with flames, Blabir  stated that all the components for the battery were brought up individually and constructed at the factories by trained professionals with utmost regard for ‘safety’ and ‘quality’.

The company continues to expand its pre-owned car business, Audi approved.It is looking to enlarge from sixteen to twenty Audi Approved facilities, by the end of 2022. In addition, the company already has official showrooms across all major hubs in the country.
