The cure for survival in a chaotic world is stillness. This proverb will not hold true in the age of social media, especially Instagram. What formerly consisted of adorable puppy pictures and well captioned brand postings has evolved into a world of short-form films, live streams, stories, and 2D animations accompanied by music mashups.
Instagram has evolved from just being a photo-sharing software. It announced a few days ago that any new video posts that are under 15 minutes long will be posted as reels. The app, which is owned by Meta, debuted its short-form video content in 2020 and has since grown to be a powerful force. The most powerful Instagram users, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, have formed a movement against the change.
Shashank Mehta, co-founder of afaqs, stated that the trend has changed from serious long-form material to frivolous short-form content, which no longer suits our goal. So we made the decision to stop. Only one side of the story is being told in this rant against Reels. “Reels is a gift for platforms and producers, because it is where you can show off your creative side,” explains Jigal Bhanushali, senior manager at Sportskeeda.
Boxing, wrestling, and mixed martial arts each have their own Instagram pages, which Bhanushali manages for Sportskeeda. He formerly served as Moneycontrol.com’s social media director for financial news.

Due to all of its features, including live stories, long-form posts, numerous photographs within a single post (creating a thread), Reels, IGTV, and driving people to your website through the link in bio, Bhanushali thinks that Instagram will eventually become an all-encompassing programme.
Aftab Naqvi, worldwide CEO and co-founder of Goozoop Group, points out that Instagram’s CEO just affirmed that the transition to video will continue but that static/photo posts will remain. According to him, “it all depends on how the audience consumes material and how platforms respond to it.”
The adage that content is king is still true, according to Naqvi, and how we adjust to changing mediums and formats continues to be a crucial case-by-case strategy for all of our clients.
