7th August 2022: MARS Petcare, the world’s leading pet food company, collaborated with Zigly for Pets, India’s first tech-enabled omni-channel pet-care platform, to celebrate Friendship Day by encouraging people to make new furry friends. With the population of dogs growing fast, street dogs go unfed and thus lack the nutrition they require. This is in keeping with Mars’ organisational purpose of making a better world for pets – one where they are more wanted, cared for and welcome – is a better world for everyone.
For every purchase of Pedigree made from Zigly for Pets, in-store or online, between August 5 to 7, customers received a free bag of Pedigree dry food which they can use to feed stray dogs in their neighbourhood in Delhi NCR. As a token of gratitude, they will also receive a coupon for their next purchase from Zigly for Pets.
Celebrated on the first Sunday of every August, Friendship Day is earmarked for rejoicing in one of the purest and most special bonds in a person’s life – friendship. Through this association, MARS Petcare is celebrating the incredible and special bond between humans and animals. Through international research and lived experiences of millions of pet parents, we know that unconditional love from pets makes the lives of humans better. The State of Pet Homeless Index, unveiled in November 2021 by MARS Petcare, showed that there were over 60 million homeless dogs in India that are not cared for or wanted. With such initiatives, MARS Petcare is working to create compassion for pets on the streets and provide nutritious meals.
