Republic struggles to catch up with CNN-News18, trails by 7.5% in week 36

New Delhi: Continuing its leadership run for the past 21 weeks, CNN-News18 has strengthened its position as the Number one English News Channel in the country.

As per BARC data (TG: 15+ AB | Full Week (0200-2600 hrs) Wk 36’22 | 8 Channels considered), CNN-News18 has secured a market share of 33.4%, which is 29% higher than Republic TV in terms of viewership this week. Meanwhile, Republic TV is in the No.2 position and Times Now in No.3 position, with 25.9% and 22.5% market share respectively.

The channel opened at number one position when the BARC ratings resumed in March this year and has remained consistent in cementing its leadership position since then.

Even on digital, the channel has been able to generate good traction for its content. Its YouTube channel and social media handles are among the most viewed with a high engagement rate.

CNN-News18 is also ahead of the competition in prime time, with a 32.1% market share in 1800-2400 hrs (AB15+ weekdays), beating Republic TV and Times Now.
