To support the area of its business that is expanding the fastest, global digital agency DEPT® has introduced WEB3/DEPT®. The 300-person team, which has contributed 5% of DEPTrevenue ®’s this year, will support clients as they experiment with blockchain technology, create immersive metaverse experiences, and provide multi-layered NFT launch strategies.

According to Isabel Perry, vice president at WEB3/DEPT®, “Web3 and the metaverse are the two transformational technological evolutions of the next ten years.” “However, CMOs and CIOs have a difficult time deciding where to begin. We feel it’s time to bring all this expertise and knowledge under the WEB3/DEPT® brand because, over the past two years, we have assisted so many brands in redefining how they interact with their customers.

The team has worked on more than 60 Web3-focused projects, including firsts for the industry and work that won awards for companies like HAPE, Circle, Dequency, Yuga Labs, Merit Circle, Tomorrowland, SPIN, Eurovision, and Sprite (in partnership with Marvel).

DEPT® has extensive Web3 experience that dates back to 2015 when it worked with Circle to create the world’s first cryptocurrency bank. Since then, the organization has developed expertise in blockchain applications and marketplaces, including developing Algomart, the first open-source solution in the world for launching an NFT marketplace built on the robust Algorand blockchain.

DEPT® is also in charge of several immersive webs, AR/VR/XR, gaming, and metaverse experiences, such as:

  1. As part of its ambitious $420 million plan to develop Translucia, an immersive metaverse experience for global technology users, Thai media giant T&B Media Global has established a $100 million Metaverse Research and Development Hub in Melbourne.
  2. H&Mbeyond’s showroom was transformed into an immersive, virtual experience thanks to a special Web3 experience.
  3. The first digital NFT fashion store online for HYPEWEAR by YOU.
  4. Children gather ingredients from their immediate surroundings in the acclaimed Cookie Monster augmented reality game found in the Sesame Street Yourself app to assist Cookie Monster in baking a batch of cookies.
  5. A trading card game with interactive AI for eBay at Comic-Con in 2022.
  6. The first real-life gaming event ever took place live on Twitch to promote the release of WITHOUT REMORSE on Amazon Prime Video.

According to Dimi Albers, CEO at DEPT®, “Web3 feels a little like mobile back in 2006 – still in its infancy but bound to have an impact for everyone, everywhere.” “For the next ten years, we want to lead the way and guide our clients through these transformative technologies. In addition to our ambitious R&D plans across EMEA, the US, and Asia Pacific, we believe that the combination of our strong intellectual property, track record of completing more than 60 web3 projects, and our diverse mix of engineers, creatives, and strategies that “get” the web3 vision sets us apart.
