In the last few years, social media and the world of content creation have experienced phenomenal growth. On a variety of online platforms, users have established themselves by publishing some of the most entertaining and relatable content. 

The first platform where creators discovered a way to connect with millions of followers was YouTube. After a significant amount of time on their channel, the creators have diversified their revenue streams beyond the entertainment industry by launching their own direct-to-consumer (D2C) companies. 

These are the top Indian content producers and influencers who have created their own social-first D2C brands, according to data provided by Inc42. 

  1. Bhuvan Bam 

One of the most popular YouTube channels is BB ki Vines. Bhuvan Bam has demonstrated incredible talent, and as a result, he has won a lot of admiration and love over the years. 

Bhuvan Bam made his D2C debut in 2017 with the introduction of Youthiapa. Youthiapa began as a store selling goods based on the comedian’s well-known one-liners but later changed its focus to everyday clothing that appeals to a wider audience. 

  1. Nikhil Sharma  

One of the original content producers on YouTube is Nikhil Sharma, also known as “Mumbiker Nikhil.” Since launching his channel in 2013, he has grown to be a well-known social media influencer. 

Nikhil entered the D2C marketing arena when his clothing line, Label MN, was introduced.

India has a large and talented pool of female content producers. One of the earliest and most well-known Indian YouTubers is Prajakta Kohli. 

Beginning with her YouTube channel Mostlysane, Prajakta is now the star of her own Netflix series, Mismatched. In 2020, the actor entered the D2C market by launching her own line of merchandise on MerchBay.

On YouTube, Madhura Bachal runs a well-liked Marathi-language cooking channel. Bachal entered the D2C market with the publication of her own cookbooks and has been successful there.

In addition to working actively in OTT productions, Parul Gulati also works in television. In 2017, Parul launched her own company, “Nish Hair,” which sells ready-to-use hair extensions. 

  1. Faisal Khan  

Biker Faisal Khan is one of India’s top producers of automotive content. Additionally, he founded and serves as editor of MotorBeam, an online platform for automotive content. 

The FK-R line of motorcycle gear was introduced by Faisal in 2019. For fans of motorcycles, the company sells jackets, riding gloves, and riding pants.
