The American tech juggernaut Apple is rumored to be developing a foldable iPad that it will soon release. According to a tweet from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this news was reported by The Verge, a well-known American technology news website. The foldable iPad has gained Kuo’s support, and he thinks that its release will significantly improve the product mix and increase Apple’s overall shipments.
Apple frequently takes the virtue of not being first very seriously. The company didn’t invent smartphones, tablets, or contemporary smartwatches (look to the Samsung Galaxy Gear or the Pebble Watch), but it has arguably come to define those categories because of the quality of life enhancements and design taste it brought when its version launched.
Tech enthusiasts and Apple fans alike are very excited about Kuo’s tweet, which was posted on Monday. The tweet from Kuo appears to give some credence to the numerous rumors and conjectures that have been made about the foldable iPad in recent years. If the foldable iPad is introduced to consumers as early as next year, it will mark a significant achievement for Apple and have a significant impact on the tablet market.
In early 2024, when mass production of the updated iPad Mini is expected to start, he believes it will join it. Kuo, who didn’t provide many additional details, claimed that a “carbon fiber” kickstand made by the Chinese component company Anjie Technology will be included in the anticipated iPad foldable.
According to The Verge, Ross Young, an analyst for Display Supply Chain Consultant, predicted the release of the last significant foldable iPad in February of last year, with the target year of 2024.
He asserted that Apple is developing a foldable iPad/MacBook hybrid with a roughly 20-inch folding screen, but he estimated that the device won’t be available for purchase until 2026.
Later, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple had been considering a foldable device with two screens. Additionally, he mentioned that the display’s lower half would act as a virtual keyboard when the gadget was used as a clamshell, similar to the MacBook.
Gurman did predict in October that Apple’s foldable iPad would debut “later in the decade,” according to The Verge, despite not giving a specific release date.
