One97 Communications Limited that owns the brand Paytm, India’s leading payments and financial services company and the pioneer of QR and mobile payments today announced that its CSR arm Paytm Foundation is facilitating a fundraising initiative to help the victims of the Odisha train tragedy. The Foundation is driving the initiative in partnership with the Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
To further help the victims, for every rupee raised from users, Paytm Foundation will match the total user donations and double the contribution to the Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This is to encourage as many users as possible to contribute, showing their support and solidarity with the victims.
The fundraising campaign will run on the Paytm App where users can donate to Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund through Paytm Wallet, Paytm UPI, Paytm Postpaid, Net Banking and Debit & Credit Cards. Any contributions to the fund are eligible for 100% exemption under Section 80(G) of Income Tax Act, 1961. Users will be able to download contribution receipts from the ‘My Orders’ section of the Paytm app.
Paytm Foundation Spokesperson said, “Our hearts go out to the victims of this devastating accident and their families. We are committed to supporting the relief efforts for those affected by the Odisha train tragedy by partnering with Odisha CMRF. By matching the donations of users, we aim to maximise the impact of each contribution made to the CMRF. We urge our users to encourage their friends and family to join us in this fundraiser.”
