Simpl strengthens its workplace policies this Pride Month to make it more inclusive

Mumbai, 27th June 2023: Simpl – India’s foremost 1-tap Checkout provider, today announced the strengthening of its workplace policies to make them more inclusive and to create meaningful opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community in the organisation. In line with this mission, the company has introduced progressive updates to its policies, including an enhanced insurance policy and comprehensive maternity benefits for same-sex partners, while extending other policies to include same-sex partners, ensuring they receive the same benefits and financial security as heterosexual couples.

Among other significant enhancements, Simpl has increased the employee insurance coverage, which also includes LGBTQ+ members, from Rs 7.5 lakh per annum to Rs 10 lakh per annum. This insurance coverage will now be extended to same-sex partners as well, reaffirming the commitment to inclusivity and equal financial security for all employees. The company’s maternity benefits, including adoption and surrogacy options, are also available for same-sex partners, ensuring all employees can enjoy equal privileges when expanding their families. In addition to this, Simpl’s people policies also include menstrual leave and adoption leave, which are applicable to LGBTQ+ couples. 

To further promote inclusivity, Simpl is organising a series of events and activities throughout Pride Month. Activities ranging from the Pride March to T-shirt painting workshops and face painting artists have been designed to increase awareness among employees, foster a deeper understanding of LGBTQ+ matters, and cultivate a culture that embraces diversity and inclusiveness. By actively encouraging dialogue and participation, Simpl is committed to creating an environment where every employee feels valued and respected.
