Groundbreaking Insights into the ‘Hiring Landscape of Major Indian Cities' have been revealed through a study conducted by WorkIndia

National, 26th September 2023:  — A recent comprehensive study conducted by WorkIndia, India’s leading blue-collar tech recruitment company, has shed light on hiring practices in major Indian cities. The study shows the maximum number of candidate leads that are ideally required to complete a hire and the expected time to close a hire for various sectors of employers.

The objective of the study is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the optimal number of leads needed to successfully make a hire for blue and grey-collar jobs and the anticipated duration it takes to finalize a hire across different sectors of employers.

The study found that it takes on average 50 candidate leads to close a blue-collar hire in Mumbai and Delhi, while the same number is 40 in Pune and Bangalore as compared to 30 in the rest of India. On the other hand, when considering grey-collar job types, Delhi, and Mumbai both have an average of 90 leads per hire, while Bangalore and Pune show an average of 70 leads per hire. The rest of India has an average of 50 leads per hire for grey-collar job types. These insights provide valuable information for businesses and job seekers, highlighting the variations in hiring dynamics across different cities and job categories.

Based on these findings, the competition for talent in various cities across India exhibits a notable degree of variation, particularly when distinguishing between blue and grey-collar job categories.

Competition for candidates in Indian cities varies significantly, with distinctions between blue and grey-collar job categories. This also indicates that while competition remains significant in both categories, it is less intense in the blue-collar job market. In Delhi and Mumbai, the leads indicate intense competition due to thriving economies for both blue and grey-collar roles. These insights guide businesses and job seekers in navigating diverse hiring landscapes.

Furthermore, the survey data uncovered substantial sample sizes for both blue and grey-collar job types in the key cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Bangalore, with a total of 1,147 observations for blue-collar job types and 1,195 for grey-collar job types. These robust figures challenge the previously established hiring thresholds and underscore the commitment to deliver precise and reliable insights into the evolving hiring landscape of these major Indian cities.

Commenting on the same, Nilesh Dungarwal, Co-Founder and CEO, WorkIndia said, “These insights challenge our assumptions about hiring thresholds and shed light on the dynamic nature of the blue-collar job market in major Indian cities. We aim to empower businesses with the information they need to make more informed hiring decisions.”

This in-depth understanding of hiring dynamics will prove invaluable, empowering both employers and job seekers to navigate the job market with greater clarity and informed decision-making.
