JK Lakshmipat University unveils a new campaign #MentoringHerDreams and #BringHerBackToSchool to bring back girls in higher education

JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), an initiative of J.K. Organisation (JKO),
situated in Jaipur, has launched an exclusive campaign to address the alarming rate at which girl students drop out of schools and colleges across India. Titled #MentorinHerDreams and #BringHerBackToSchool, the campaign aims to inspire, empower, and mentor girls to persist in completing their higher education journeys at the JK Lakshmipat University in Jaipur.

According to Unicef data, in India, while girl enrollment is high at 96% up to class 8 level, it
drops steeply to only 50% for classes 11 and 12 (higher secondary). This highlights the major issue of a large proportion of girls dropping out after completing elementary school, depriving them of opportunities to pursue their dreams of becoming a doctor, actor, designer, entrepreneur and more, and achieve their full potential.

To address this concerning issue, JKLU’s strategic campaign blends powerful storytelling, mentorship programs, and tangible support measures to foster a more inclusive educational landscape. Scheduled to be live from March 8th to 31st, 2024, the campaign offers a transformative opportunity for aspiring girl students. Eligible women candidates applying to the JKLU academic programme during this entire month will receive an additional 15% scholarship on top of existing scholarship offerings. This financial assistance aims to ease the burden on families and ensure that economic constraints do not hinder a girl’s educational aspirations. “Educating and empowering our daughters is not just a moral imperative, but an investment in the future prosperity of our nation” said Dr. Dheeraj Sanghi, Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University “By highlighting these challenges faced by girl students and doing our part we aim to ensure that every girl in India has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shape the future of our nation.” The multi-dimensional campaign features a series of powerful narratives shared on JKLU’s social media assets, spotlighting the stories of young women who have faced adversity in their pursuit of higher education. Women academicians will also share their perspectives on why girls drop out with the key goal of bringing girl students back into the educational fold.

Through an emotional yet hard-hitting narrative, and utilizing a diverse array of engaging
mediums, such as creative short videos, compelling social media posts, and thought-provoking content, the campaign is meticulously designed to spark dialogue and inspire tangible, positive transformation within our community.

Aspiring girl students are encouraged to seize this opportunity and apply for the JKLU
scholarship by March 31st, 2024. Students can visit http://applications.jklu.edu.in for more information and to take the step forward to realizing their dreams.
