How Basic Health Education is important for society

In today’s fast-moving world, everyone should be aware of basic health knowledge. Sharing information to people about the abilities they need to make good decisions about their health forms for society’s well-being. The value of basic health education cannot be overstated, as it may help avoid diseases and promote good health in general.

Health education teaches people about the facts they need to make healthy lifestyle decisions and avoid measures and common illnesses. Understanding the importance of proper diet, regular exercise, good cleanliness, and medical check-ups allows people to take care of their health. Basic health education may be a powerful approach to avoiding illness by providing people with this knowledge. By educating people about communicable diseases and measures to avoid them, basic health education plays a critical role in stopping the spread of harmful infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS, malaria, and TB. Also, it increases public awareness of vaccination campaigns, which protect public health and help in reducing the number of deadly diseases.

Basic health education also promotes an atmosphere of responsibility and self-care. Teaching people about the early warning signs and symptoms of different diseases promotes early medical attention, which improves their health. As well, it helps people to maintain healthy lives and habits, which reduces the burden of serious diseases like diabetes, overweight, and hypertension.

Basic health education has a major impact on society as well as its effects on individual health. Healthy people are better able to contribute to the workforce, which promotes wealth and economic progress. Also, by reducing non-critical illnesses, basic health education reduces the burden on healthcare systems and frees up funds for other urgent medical needs. It will also help people by giving therapy or some type of medical treatment in case of emergency, and it can also reduce the cause of death. Also, basic health education helps everyone, and people have a right to get important health knowledge and services. By resolving medical gaps and promoting equality, basic health education contributes to the development of a more equal and healthier society.

According to Dr. Subhash Gupta, Chairman of Red Cross Society, Ghaziabad-

“To Build a happy nation everybody should learn about basic health conditions to cope with non-critical illnesses. Basic health education is also so important for everyone as it helps people in so many ways, as central government is also running many yojanas like Ayushman Bharat, and Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojna, to keep people healthy and help the poor people by providing them with the best medical facilities through these schemes. The Red Cross Society has also helped so many TB patients by providing them with nutrition kits. Promoting an understanding of hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention, cultivates a healthier lifestyle. Basic health education is not only a safeguard for a person but also strengthens the fabric of society.”
