To highlight the essential role that natural ecosystems play in defining India’s identity, ProClime, a climate action company, has launched a unique campaign to mark Independence Day. Titled ‘Sounds of ProClime’, the initiative aims to remind citizens of the vital role that natural ecosystems play in shaping India’s identity.

The campaign features a distinctive rendition of the national anthem, composed using authentic sounds of animals and birds recorded in the forests of India. A special team was dispatched to capture these sounds, creating a powerful auditory experience that serves as a clarion call for the conservation of our natural heritage.

India celebrates its 78th Independence Day this year and we find ourselves at a crucial moment in history. Our work gives us a unique vantage point, through which we are witnessing firsthand how governance and industries are increasingly inclined towards sustainable development. Our deep connection with the people on the ground, who face the harsh realities of climate change, informs our mission. With this campaign, we urge India to recognize that conserving our biodiversity is the most critical battle we face as a nation, and it is key to securing our future,” said Kavin Kumar Kandasamy, CEO, ProClime.

Despite India comprising of only 2.4% of the world’s total landmass, it is home to over 8% of global biodiversity. However, A variety of factors, including climate change and unsustainable land use practices, are contributing to biodiversity decline, which in turn is degrading our quality of life.

Talking about the ideation, Theresa Ronnie, Head of Marketing, ProClime added, “As a marketer, an opportunity to represent Nature as a citizen on our nation’s Independence Day is an honour and privilege. We hope this campaign reminds all Indians the importance of protecting and conserving our national biodiversity for a sustainable future.
