Saudi Ministry of Culture Announces 2024 National Cultural Awards Winners, Including the International Category Winner Celebrating Global Collaboration

Riyadh, 09 September 2024 – The fourth edition of the National Cultural Awards took place yesterday evening at the King Fahad Cultural Centre, where outstanding nominees were presented with awards in honor of their valuable contributions to the Kingdom’s cultural sector. For the second year, the Saudi Ministry of Culture will celebrate cultural innovators from around the world that have demonstrated excellence in their field. 

This year, the Awards were presented in 16 categories, which encompassed a diverse range of honors including a Cultural Pioneer Award, Youth Cultural Award, International Cultural Excellence Award, Business Owners Award and Cultural Institutions Award; as well as sector-specific awards for achievements in film, fashion, music, literature and various cultural sectors.

The International Cultural Excellence Award was won by Turquoise Mountain. Turquoise Mountain’s mission to preserve and generate historic areas and communities with a rich cultural heritage to revive traditional crafts to create jobs, skills and a renewed sense of pride.

Two new pivotal categories were introduced during the ceremony: the Media Cultural Award and the Handicraft Award. Both categories reinforce the Ministry of Culture’s role in fostering innovation while safeguarding cultural traditions.

The National Cultural Awards recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements across various cultural fields. These awards reflect the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to encourage creativity and foster community involvement in the cultural sector in the Kingdom.
