Chennai: To make the festival season more joyous for car buyers, Maruti Suzuki has reduced the price (ex. Showroom) of Alto K10 (VXi) by Rs 6,500/- and S-Presso (LXi) by Rs 2,000.
This price reduction makes the ex-showroom price of the two models, under Rs 5 lakh, leading to a lower road tax bracket in Karnataka.
Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “We wish all our customers a very joyous and auspicious festival season. To add extra joy to the festivities, we have reduced the prices of our Alto K10 (VXi) and S-Presso (LXi) models. These price reductions will bring additional benefits to our customers in Karnataka by lowering the road tax slab, offering them incremental savings. We are confident that this additional benefit will make it easier for customers planning to own a small car making this festival season extra special.”
In Tamil Nadu, cars with ex-showroom prices below Rs 5 Lakh attract 12% road tax, compared to 13% for higher-priced vehicles. The additional benefit of lower road tax is Rs 5840/- on Alto K10 (VXi) and Rs 5,255/- on S-Presso (LXi).
The combined benefit of price reduction and change in road tax slab is that car buyers get an overall saving of Rs 12,340/- on Alto K10 (VXi) and Rs. 7,255/ on S- Presso (LXi).
