A Step-by-Step Guide to Registering for the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2025: Everything You Need to Know

India 4th October 2024: Symbiosis International (Deemed University) invites aspiring law students to apply for the Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) 2025, a pivotal step toward securing a seat in one of the four prestigious Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS) located in Pune, Hyderabad, Noida, and Nagpur. This year, the final date for registration is set for November 22, 2024. The SLAT is a gateway to undergraduate law programmes, including B.A. LL.B (Hons), B.B.A. LL.B (Hons), B.A. LL.B, and B.B.A. LL.B. 

The exams will take place on December 13 and December 15, 2024, with results being announced on December 26, 2024. Prospective candidates can register through the official website before the given deadline. 

How to Register for SLAT 2025

  1. Visit the Official SLAT Website: Go to www.set-test.org.
  2. Initiate Registration: Click on the “Register for SLAT” button to begin the registration process.
  3. Read Instructions: Carefully read all instructions provided and accept the Terms and Conditions by clicking on the ‘Continue’ button.
  4. Fill in the Required Details: Enter your personal information as requested on the registration page.
  5. Verify Your Information: An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the mobile number and email ID you provided. Enter the OTP to verify your information.
  6. Payment of Registration Fee: Pay the non-refundable registration fee of INR 2250 per test. Additional government taxes may apply. Payment options include:

  • Demand Draft: If opting for a Demand Draft, ensure it is drawn from a nationalised bank in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat,” payable at Pune. Select the ‘DD Payment’ option during the payment process and send the completed payment advice form along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat.
  1. Receive SLAT ID and Password: Upon successful registration, candidates will receive their SLAT ID and password via email and SMS. Keep this information safe for future reference.
  2. Programme Registration: Candidates must also register separately for the desired law programmes by paying an additional registration fee of INR 1000 for each programme. This fee is also non-refundable and non-transferable.

The test consists of 60 questions to be completed within a 60-minute timeframe. The structure of the test is as follows:

  • Logical Reasoning: 12 Questions
  • Legal Reasoning: 12 Questions
  • Analytical Reasoning: 12 Questions
  • Reading Comprehension: 12 Questions
  • General Knowledge: 12 Questions

One notable feature of the SLAT is that there will be no negative marking, setting it apart from other law entrance tests. Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of INR 2250 for the test, in addition to INR 1000 for each programme they wish to apply to.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking to apply for SLAT 2025 must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Standard XII (10+2) or an equivalent examination from any recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 45% marks is required for general candidates, while candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes must secure at least 40%.
