1. Can you briefly introduce Tramontina and its key product offerings in the Indian market?

Tramontina is a global leader in houseware, with a legacy that dates back to 1911. What began as a small workshop in Brazil has evolved into a renowned brand, known for its focus on premium quality, durability, and innovation. Today, with over 113 years of experience, we operate in more than 120 countries.

In India, we’ve introduced a range of 100% toxin-free kitchen products that are both functional and long-lasting. Our offerings include our legendary knives, which cater to both professional chefs and home cooks, along with a selection of tri-ply, cast iron, and ceramic-coated cookware. These products have been carefully developed with the Indian consumer in mind, ensuring they meet the demands of modern kitchens while maintaining the high standards Tramontina is known for globally.

2. How has the demand for premium cookware evolved in India over the years? What are some of the key customer preferences?

The demand for premium cookware in India has seen remarkable growth, with the segment
expanding at a rapid pace of 40-50%. This shift is largely driven by two major trends. Firstly, there’s a growing awareness among consumers about the health risks associated with certain materials, prompting a shift toward more natural options like stainless steel, cast iron, brass, and copper. This transition is pushing demand toward higher-quality, sustainable products that offer long-term value.

Secondly, the way people perceive cookware has fundamentally changed. What was once
viewed as a purely functional item, used by household cooks, is now seen as an investment in durability and design. Today, consumers are looking for cookware that doesn’t just perform well but also looks elegant and can transition seamlessly from the stove to the dining table. There’s a clear preference for aesthetically pleasing, well-crafted pieces that reflect their lifestyle and add a sense of sophistication to their kitchens. This shift in mindset has fueled the rise of the premium cookware segment in India.

3. Sustainability is a growing concern globally. How is Tramontina addressing the shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly products in India?

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from sourcing eco-friendly materials to
implementing responsible manufacturing processes that benefit both consumers and the planet.

Globally, Tramontina publishes an annual Sustainability Report outlining our progress and
challenges in sustainable development and ESG practices. According to the latest report, 37% of the water used in our factories comes from rainwater and reuse, while 95% of our energy consumption is from renewable sources.
At the consumer level, we focus on creating durable, long-lasting cookware that reduces the need for frequent replacements, minimizing waste and the environmental impact of recycling.

Tramontina is deeply committed to the responsible use of natural resources and promoting
sustainable development practices. As we expand in India, we’re dedicated to integrating these practices into our operations, reinforcing our role as a responsible and eco-conscious brand.

4. How does Tramontina ensure that its products meet the highest standards of safety and health?

At Tramontina, we are committed to exceeding the highest safety and health standards through rigorous certifications and quality checks. All our cookware is 100% toxin-free, ensuring that no harmful chemicals leach into your food.

Our ‘Aeon’ range of Tri-ply cookware, for instance, carries the NSF certification, a trusted mark of quality and safety in the US. Meanwhile, our ‘Fusao’ range features a ceramic coating that offers safe, high-performance properties without containing potentially harmful PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances).

We also prioritize using only food-grade materials, ensuring every piece of cookware is safe, durable, and easy to maintain. By adhering to these strict standards, Tramontina guarantees peace of mind and the highest levels of safety and health for our customers.

5. Tramontina is known for innovation. Could you share some insights into the
technologies or materials used in your products that sets you apart from competitors?

At Tramontina, innovation is in our DNA. We continuously push boundaries to create products that make cooking safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable.

We prioritize health and flavor by using non-reactive materials that prevent any chemical
reactions, ensuring food safety and preserving taste.

For efficiency, our cookware features a thicker grid that enhances induction performance,
providing faster, more even heating—saving both energy and time. Our knives, crafted with
advanced technology, are designed for lasting sharpness and come with a five-year warranty.

Through the use of cutting-edge materials and thoughtful design, Tramontina ensures our
products exceed modern cooking expectations, setting us apart in the market.

6. What are Tramontina’s growth plans for the Indian market? Are there any new categories or products that you plan to introduce?

We’re very optimistic about Tramontina’s future in India. Our vision is not just to lead in kitchen products, but to dominate the entire houseware category—a goal we’re fully committed to achieving.

In the next 12 to 18 months, we’ll introduce a wide array of product categories across various price points, providing comprehensive kitchen solutions for diverse consumer needs. This includes the launch of our forged ceramic range, which combines aluminum with a ceramic coating for enhanced performance, and a new line of pressure cookers designed specifically for the Indian market.

Beyond the kitchen, we’ll expand into porcelain dinnerware and cutlery, along with a world-class product range for the HoReCa segment. We’re collaborating with top chefs to ensure these products meet the high standards of professional kitchens.

Most importantly, we’re fully aligned with the ‘Make in India’ initiative and plan to establish a manufacturing hub in India by the end of this financial year. This will allow us to bring our
advanced technology to India and create products tailored to local preferences, in collaboration with chefs and influencers.

Overall, our focus is on blending innovation with local insights to meet the diverse needs of
Indian consumers and businesses.
