New Delhi, October 07, 2024 – InMobi, a global leader in mobile technology and digital innovation, and Data Security Council of India (DSCI), an independent not-for-profit organization established by NASSCOM, today entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance cybersecurity awareness, capacity building, skilling and upskilling initiatives across India. The collaboration reflects the shared vision of InMobi and DSCI to create a secure and resilient digital ecosystem in India.

Naveen Tewari, Founder and CEO, InMobi Group, said, “InMobi is deeply committed to fostering a safe and secure digital environment for all. As a leading consumer tech brand, we carry a profound responsibility to not just innovate but to create meaningful impact. It’s about building trust, protecting consumer interests, and fostering a sustainable ecosystem where technology serves humanity for good. Our commitment must be towards shaping a future where brands are a force for positive change as we build from India for the world”.

As digital adoption continues to accelerate, both organizations are committed to empowering individuals, businesses, and institutions with the knowledge and skills necessary to safeguard against cybersecurity threats. The key objectives of the collaboration include cyber awareness campaigns, capacity-building workshops, training skilling and upskilling programs and a national quiz.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, Global SVP and Chief Corporate Affairs & Public Policy Officer, InMobi Group, stated, “InMobi and DSCI share a common interest in fostering a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem. Together, we are committed to empowering individuals and organizations with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital landscape securely. Our partnership is built on the belief that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and through collaborative efforts, we can drive lasting change for a secure digital future”.

Vinayak Godse, CEO of DSCI, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, “Cybersecurity is no longer just a concern for large enterprises; it is now critical for everyone in the digital ecosystem. Through our collaboration with InMobi, we will be able to amplify our efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness and build a more secure and resilient digital India.”

This collaboration will be a powerful catalyst for ‘InMobi For Good’ and ‘Glance For Good’, leveraging the InMobi ecosystem and Glance’s lock screen platform to drive positive social impact. The initiative will reach millions of smartphone users with bite-sized content promoting digital literacy, online safety, and cybersecurity. By harnessing Glance’s immersive user experience, it aims to engage underserved communities, fostering responsible digital practices and building a safer, more informed digital society.

Cybersecurity has emerged as a critical global concern. According to recent reports, cyberattacks have surged by over 60% in the past two years, with phishing, ransomware, and data breaches being the most prevalent threats. The average cost of a data breach in 2023 stood at $4.45 million globally according to the 2023 cost of a data breach report by IBM and the Ponemon Institute, underscoring the growing financial and operational risks. In India, where digital adoption is accelerating, 68% of businesses have experienced at least one cyber incident in the past year, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive cybersecurity measures.

Current trends indicate a shift towards more sophisticated threats, including AI-driven attacks and deepfakes, with businesses now prioritizing investments in proactive security solutions, capacity building, and continuous training to stay ahead of the curve. Therefore, the collaboration between InMobi and DSCI represents a significant step toward enhancing cybersecurity resilience in India. By working together, InMobi and DSCI aim to ensure a secure and thriving digital future, where technology innovation is matched with the highest standards of security and trust.
