Mumbai, 30th October, 2024: Upstox, one of India’s leading wealth management platforms, today unveiled its new brand campaign for the auspicious occasion of Muhurat Trading. With a seamless blend of tradition with modern investment opportunities, Upstox has introduced an initiative designed to encourage increased equity participation this Diwali.

Muhurat trading has been a long-standing practice in the Indian markets where investing occurs during an auspicious hour on Diwali, symbolising wealth and prosperity. This year, Upstox aims to make this occasion even more special by encouraging users to participate and start a new tradition by investing in stocks, mutual funds, or Gold ETFs and MFs to secure their financial future.

“Iss Diwali, Kuch Naya” encapsulates the message of starting new investment habits while honouring traditional practices. Through a heartwarming story, Upstox has depicted a multigenerational family celebrating Diwali and discussing how their traditions — making clay diyas, cooking festive sweets — have passed through generations. Now, they take the conversation forward by starting a new family tradition of investing together. Hence, the family explores the various investment options that are available to them via Upstox’s app. (Watch the video here)

Speaking on the initiative and the campaign idea, Kavitha Subramanian, Co-founder, Upstox said, “Muhurat trading has always been a significant tradition for the investor and trader community, symbolizing the start of the new year. Through our latest campaign, we want to take this auspicious occasion a step ahead. We want to inspire every Indian, —whether a seasoned trader or a first-time investor—to strengthen their investment journey with ‘kuch naya’, fostering a legacy of financial security and prosperity for the future.”

Earlier this month, Upstox also launched a suite of new trading features powered by Tick-By-Tick data, branded as “TBT Engine”. With this move, the company has aimed to democratise the access that retail traders have in the markets, giving them a competitive edge at par with institutional traders. Upstox wants to drive enhanced trading participation this Diwali with more customers using these features to have a convenient, informed and smooth trading experience on their platform.

Currently, Upstox has a customer base of over 1.3 crores with 75% of them being millennials. Additionally, around 70% of the total customer base comprises first time investors, from which 85% of them are from tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India. Upstox is also proudly adding about 5 lakh customers on a month on month basis. With this campaign, Upstox continues to encourage investors and traders to build their wealth and secure their financial futures, for themselves as well as their families.
