India – November 08th, 2024:  Kärcher, the global leader in innovative cleaning technology, has marked a significant milestone in its commitment to the Indian market by acquiring a 100% stake in ARMA, based in Coimbatore. This acquisition, announced by Markus Limberger, Chief Operating Officer of Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG, during a visit to the Kärcher Training Center in Noida on November 6th, 2024, reinforces Kärcher’s operational footprint in India. By integrating ARMA’s product capabilities, Kärcher gains greater control over local manufacturing and accelerates its strategy to introduce high-quality professional cleaning solutions tailored to the Indian market.

The Coimbatore facility, covering approximately 4,600m², will now produce an expanded range of Kärcher’s professional cleaning machines. Currently employing 49 people, the facility will increase production capacity to meet India’s rising demand. Kärcher expects to manufacture over 5,000 units annually by 2025, with projections to reach 19,000 units by 2030. This local production model is expected to decrease lead times, enhance product availability, and support Kärcher’s “Make in India” initiative.

The Coimbatore plant features cutting-edge automation, such as in-house fabrication of sheet metal parts, an R&D Testing Lab, a sound testing room, and an endurance/lifetime test track for scrubbers. Kärcher is also making its production more sustainable, including recycling wastewater used in product testing.

Markus Limberger, Chief Operating Officer of Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG, shared, “Our 100% acquisition of ARMA in Coimbatore is a key milestone for Kärcher India. It strengthens our commitment to the region by enhancing our manufacturing capabilities and enabling us to better meet the needs of the Indian market. We are excited about the growth and innovation this presents.”

Jatinder Kaul, Managing Director of Kärcher India, further emphasized the strategic significance: “This acquisition is not just about expanding our presence but about aligning with India’s growth goals. By manufacturing locally, we contribute to job creation, skill development, and supply chain efficiency while further strengthening German-Indian trade relations.”

As one of Germany’s largest trade partners, India holds strategic importance for Kärcher. The ARMA acquisition emphasizes the commitment to technology transfer and economic growth, exemplifying Kärcher’s role as a partner in India’s industrial advancement.
